Anterior blepharitis, also known as staphylococcal blepharitis, affects the area where the eyelashes are attached. The condition is the result of the presence of staphylococcus bacteria. Dandruff can also cause anterior blepharitis. The condition can sometimes lead to stye, which is the infection of the sebaceous gland of the eyelid.
