Symptoms of AMD
The onset of the symptoms of Age-Related Macular Degeneration can be sudden or gradual.
- Blurring of the central vision is an important symptom in the initial stage. Unusual shape or size of the objects seen is another initial symptom.
- Complains of dark spots or missing areas in vision. Sometimes shadows are not seen.
- Identifying of colors becomes difficult.
- Distorted vision. Especially straight lines appear wavy.
- Sensitive to light. On certain occasion, complaints about light that is not actually there.
- People suffering from Age-Related Macular Degeneration also talks about colors and shapes that are not there.
